LA4: Kurushima Short Movie Trailer (evaluation)
Due to the current circumstances (COVID-19) and Weather issues, I had to partially alter my story so I could finish it in the set time frame i was given.
I recorded knives being rubbed together to create a stabbing sound effect for the diegetic sound in the murder scene. the non diegetic sound is a copyright free song from youtube.
Q1: How close was your final production to the initial ideas you had?
A1: it was close in some aspects but no where near in others, the way I edited the video was close to what I had imagined but the way the video turned out was not how I was expecting from my initial ideas.
Q2: How did the pre-production process help you when it came to making your film?
A2: it helped me because I was more organised and had all of the aspects to create my video before production started.
Q3: How appropriate was your final product to your intended target audience?
A3: I believe it is appropriate (15+)
Q4: What contribution did you make to the film (if in a group discuss your technical contributions (camerawork, sound etc) if on your own talk about the things you did when shooting)
A4: I pretty much did everything, from shot angles to positions of people, to how long a shot should be.
Q5: How was your time management on this project
A5: sub-par. my circumstances meant I had to rush aspects of my video because i waited to see if the situation would change(weather in particular) but it didn't, which is why I had to do a drastic change to my movie in order to fit the criteria.
Q6: What have you learned from this activity?
A6: I learned how to create a shooting schedule, cast and crew list etc, and I also learned how to edit a short trailer.
Q7: what do you feel went well, and what things would you try to improve next time?
A7: what went well: I like how the video looks, it is in my opinion aesthetically pleasing and the way the shots work with the music is good too.
