HORROR
Horror is a genre which is intended to, or has the capacity to frighten, scare, disgust, or startle its readers or viewers by inducing feelings of horror and terror.
Horror films are unsettling films designed to frighten and panic, cause dread and alarm, and to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a cathartic experience. Horror films effectively center on the dark side of life, the forbidden, and strange and alarming events. They deal with our most primal nature and its fears: our nightmares, our vulnerability, our alienation, our revulsions, our terror of the unknown, our fear of death and dismemberment, loss of identity, or fear of sexuality.

LoveCraftian Horror
Lovecraftian horror is a sub-genre of horror fiction that emphasises the cosmic horror of the unknown more than gore or other elements of shock. It is named after American author H.P Lovecraft. His work emphasises a philosophy of cosmicism, the idea that the reality underlying the veneer of normality is so alien that seeing it would be harmful.
Many movies, shows and other authors have adapted this genre and created from it, making unimaginable things imaginable.
