LA3: Know About Research Methods

Primary Research

Primary research is self conducted work that is often necessary to answer specific questions while researching something.

Examples of this are; Surveys, Questionnaires etc.

Secondary Research

Secondary research on the other hand is work conducted by other people, it is necessary to understand what research has already been conducted.

Examples of this are; Reading articles, Searching the internet, Newspapers etc.

Qualitative Research

Qualitative research focuses on understanding research as the general public would perceive it, This means the quality of the Non-Numerical Research.

if I created a survey and the majority of people liked the brand nike over Adidas, this shows that nike is the more popular brand to the general audience.

Quantitive Research

Quantitive research is the process of collecting numerical data to find patterns, averages make predictions and generalise results to wider populations.

if 7 people like waking up early and 4 don't you have a 7:4 ratio

Comments

  1. Try and add a bit more detail here Jake - these should be more than one sentence and include some examples. Use the PowerPoint on Teams or your own internet research to do this if you need to. Also don't forget to label the post 'Research for Creative Media Production'. You should also have your second post 'Research Techniques' up on your blog by now.
