My Oracy Passport (English)

Why is oracy important to me? Oracy is important to me because it means I can speak well mannered and confidently when doing important things or pursuing goals, such as job interviews. Currently I think speaking in front of a group of people wouldn't be too hard of a struggle, I may be nervous but I could easily persevere. It's important to me because when I was in secondary school I didn't have the Oracy skills to stand up for myself and become my own person, preach my own views. This is important because I wouldn't be the person I am today without gaining better oracy skills. Problems I may encounter? I may encounter nervousness and stage fright due to speaking to a moderately large group of maybe 10/15 people, but that depends on the size of said group.

LA2.1 & LA3.1: Demonstrate encoding video for various resolutions and platforms

Image
I am going to encode my short film into multiple formats, resolutions and on 2 platforms, those being YouTube and Vimeo. 1080p YouTube Video - 1080p is a larger file but it is higher in quality, this is better for larger screens. https://youtu.be/mvKrdyVuI7I 720p Youtube Video - 720p is lower in quality but is a smaller file size, this is better for mobile devices or smaller screens. https://youtu.be/ImTRq4NLJDU Vimeo 1080p Video - Vimeo is a similar app to youtube and the same rules apply, so a higher resolution means a higher fie size, slower download/upload speed etc. https://vimeo.com/561261368 Vimeo 480p Video - this file is way smaller due to the resolution being lower, meaning it is a smaller and faster download/upload. https://vimeo.com/561265688

LA2: Contributing In A Technical Capacity To The Creation Of A Video Project

A) The shooting took place entirely in my bedroom, Due to coronavirus and weather issues, I had to alter the script to where it was performed entirely in my bedroom. B) The equipment I used: Tripod, Canon Camera, Fake Knife, Fake Blood. C) I set up some of my shots to look like they were being filmed without the antagonist knowing (hidden camera) to add a more eerie, personal feel to the trailer. a few shots took multiple takes because of technical errors and miscalculations in timing. I was in charge of camera positions, peoples positions, shot compositions and the editing process.  I set the camera up in specific shots to create a sort of hidden camera scene, this is most recognisable in the murder scene half way through the trailer. the shooting took place entirely in my bedroom due to limitations (coronavirus,  weather etc.)

LA4: Kurushima Short Movie Trailer (evaluation)

https://youtu.be/AgxL5q44TDs Due to the current circumstances (COVID-19) and Weather issues, I had to partially alter my story so I could finish it in the set time frame i was given. I recorded knives being rubbed together to create a stabbing sound effect for the diegetic sound in the murder scene.  the non diegetic sound is a copyright free song from youtube. Q1: How close was your final production to the initial ideas you had? A1: it was close in some aspects but no where near in others, the way I edited the video was close to what I had imagined but the way the video turned out was not how I was expecting from my initial ideas. Q2:  How did the pre-production process help you when it came to making your film? A2: it helped me because I was more organised and had all of the aspects to  create my video before production started. Q3:  How appropriate was your final product to your intended target audience?   A3: I believe it is app...

My Individual Visual Effect Explanation

Image
step 1. I imported my 2 clips and added a cross dissolve to the beginning and end. step 2. I split the first clip at the end so I could add my effects and make it look seamless. step 3. I added some effects (distort, grain and colour correct) to the split clip, making it distorted. step 4. I made sure the transition was seamless and smooth for a "realistic" looking effect  step 5. I saved and exported my video through a media encoder, making an mp4 file. step 6. I uploaded my video to youtube. https://youtu.be/MqsbxCErAWE

Project Plan for Blast Off by The Allergies (14/5/2020) 2.1 & 2.2 Research

What is your project idea? my project idea is a music video for the song by the allergies named "Blast Off". How will you produce your project? (Medium – Physical/Digital) It will be a digital product.   Is your project a one off, or is it part of a series? (i.e. Blog Posts, instructional videos etc) It is a one off project but there will be posts relating go the pitch (feedback sheets) What did you learn from your market research that will help to improve the overall effectiveness of your project?   I learned about how music videos can come in a variety of styles, such as conceptual, narrative or performance. (mine being narrative/performance) What resources will you need to complete your product? Is there anything you need to learn first?  I will needed powerpoint and access to the internet, and I need to learned about the band itself to get a good idea as to what the video should look like in order for it to fit the visual discography of the allergies. Is it reali...
